Parking at Chania Airport
Chania’s car park was rebuilt with the terminal and sits directly in front of it: open-air, a two-minute walk to check-in, with short-stay bays nearest the building and long-stay rows behind. The plateau has space, which Heraklion and Corfu do not, so finding a place is rarely a problem except in the middle two weeks of August.
There is no shade anywhere on the plateau. A car left for a fortnight in July comes back hot enough to bake in; a sunshade is the cheapest insurance.

Pay at the machines by the terminal entrance before returning to the car. The figures below are indicative; the operator posts the current tariff at the entrance and on its website.

Drop-off and pick-up
The forecourt in front of departures is for a brief stop; the airport police keep it clear during the summer waves. To meet a flight, use the short-stay bays (first 10 minutes free) and the arrivals hall. Check the live arrivals board before driving up from Chania: the road over Akrotiri is 25 minutes each way and the evening Ryanair and Norwegian arrivals often slip.
Private car parks on the Akrotiri road
A few private car parks between Kounoupidiana and the airport offer fenced or covered parking with a shuttle, usually below the on-site weekly rate and, unlike the airport, with shade. Book ahead for August. The airport has no involvement in these services.
